Welcome to Kids on Campus!
About Us
Kids on Campus is a non-profit child development center at Santa Clara University founded in 1969 by faculty and staff as a parent co-op. Since then we have grown to a small community of approximately 50 families of Santa Clara University faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Infant-Toddler Program serves children between the ages of 10 weeks and 30 months. Our Preschool Program is for children from 2.5 through 6 years of age. The facility includes four classrooms and two playgrounds that are designed to meet the needs of our students while providing a safe and provoking environment. Kids on Campus admits students whose parents are benefits-eligible faculty and staff of Santa Clara University and reflects the diverse community at our school and the California Bay Area.

Our Classrooms

The Kids on Campus staff works to ensure that our family cultures are visible and valued. Having a child's culture represented in the classroom through books and traditional materials is important because it helps children develop a strong sense of identity, belonging, and self-worth. In addition, diverse books help all children develop empathy, respect, and appreciation for others. By learning about different cultures, traditions, and ways of life, children begin to recognize both the similarities and differences among people. This exposure helps reduce stereotypes, encourages inclusion, and fosters a classroom community where diversity is celebrated.
The following reading guides have been compiled by our teachers to provide talking points and questions for thoughtful discussion about some of our favorites. Please reach out with suggestions to koc@scu.edu.
